Set of four plastic bottles held in a rack with a hanging loop, probably copper, by Mayer & Phelps, London, mid 20th century, formerly the property of Thomas Pomfret Kilner.
One of the bottles contains a bright red residue; they possibly contained pigment used for tattooing.
This came from an instrument case used by Thomas Pomfret Kilner (1890-1964) at Liverpool; see BAPRAS/ 242.
