Relief of Mafeking Bonfire on Midsummer Common 1901. With notice saying "Bravo B.P." to Baden Powell who led the resistance of Mafeking. In the process of with standing the siege he employed many young boys as messengers and idea he later developed into the scouting movement.

The album of photographs acquired by Rudolph David Anstead was purchased for the College in 1998 by Samantha Fabbro (Cummins) who matriculated in 1983, BA 1986; MA 1990. Anstead was the son of Walter Henry Anstead: born in Wisbech, 2 June 1876. School Giggleswick. Admitted pensioner under Cartmell 21 March 1896. BA (Nat Sc tripos 2nd class) 1899. Analyst at chemical works in Hull 1899-1900; in Government Laboratory in Bridgetown, Barbadoes 1900-5; Agricultural Superintendent, Botanic Gardens, Grenada 1905-9; Scientific Officer for the United Planters Association of Southern India from 1909.
