Three shapes, a circle, triangle and square, in a Zen type garden.
Physical description
Professor Phillip King was commissioned by the Yusuf and Farida Hamied Foundation to make a sculpture for the entrance to the Hamied Centre. King was a contemporary of Hamied in 1954. The sculpture was named "Darwin" by King. The oval is the concept of evolution, the triangle the young Darwin, the open square the world at large; these forms find a balance between openness and enclosure.
