William Owtram (or Outram)

William Owtram born 1625 near Chesterfield; matriculated Trinity 1642, M.A. Christ's 1649, Fellow 1648; Junior Proctor 1655 - 57; Rector of Navenby 1656 - 59 ; Instituted to St Mary Woolnoth; Rector St. Margaret Westminster 1649 - 79 and stayed at his post through the plague. Prebendary Westminster and Archdeacon of Leicester; These post he held till his death 1679. Buried in Westminster Abbey.[PBR vol i pp483] Author of "De Sacrificilis". Mary Beale (née Cradock) (26 March 1633 – 1699) was an English portrait painter. She became one of the most important portrait painters of 17th century England, and has been described as the first professional female English painter. [Wiki]. Presumably the portrait referred to by her husband Charles Beale as having been painted in 1672.[Goodison pp30] repaired in 1979; portrait artist agreed MIlner 1911
