Presented by Mr. Stretton 12 Montague Rd., Southbourne, Bournemouth. Photo of portrait belonging to A.C.Burret of the Portrait of Hugh Broughton Fellow 1572-8. The offer to present the original portrait (through the Director of the National Portrait Gallery was considered at College Meeting Nov 27th 1956 and accepted March 12th 1957. The Donor Mr Allen Cotton Burrett in memory of his only son Allen Cotton James Burrett, Major in the Queen's Royal Regt., who fought from Alamein to Tunis, and Salerno in Italy and died in Normandy June 16th 1944 aged 24.
