James William Cartmell (PBR II, pp567) born 1842, died 1918; scholar 1861; Fellow 1866; Priest 1869; Dean of Ely; Tutor of College 1873-1911; medieval and modern languages; Senior proctor 1878-9; administrator. Was nephew to the James Cartmell who was Master of the college, as confirmed by a descendant who attended a reunion dinner in 2025.
