Sir Arthur Everett Shipley BA Zoology 1884, MA 1888, ScD 1911. Fellow 1887; Elected Master in succession to Dr. Peile 24th Oct 1910. Reader in zoology 1908. In 1887 sent to by the Colonial Office to Bermuda to study a plant disease. Worked with the Marine Biology Laboratory in Naples. FRS 1904. Vice Chancellor Cambridge 1917-19. Completed Peile's Biological Register. Between 1911 and 1916 he did much work restoring the Lodge; overhauled the former combination room which after Shipley's time was to revert to that function. At his own expense he panelled the combination room to serve as his study.The impressive fireplace in the SCR was brought from the room above. In the chapel the memorial window to Peile was installed. In his will he founded a Fellowship.

Presumably bequeathed to the College by Sir Arthur Shipley in 1927. It was perhaps modelled in 1922 when Tait McKenzie was occupied on the Cambridge War Memorial.
