Robert Bridges Molesworth was born at Clapham in 1862; pensioner1882. pupil of Sir Alexander Rendel, civil engineer, 1885-8 during which time he was involved with the building of Milford Docks. From 1888 to 1891 he became assistant to Sir Alexander Rendel designing bridges and rolling stock; 1891 he became chief assistant to Mr Joseph Kincaid; appointed Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers 1897. With his father Sir Guildford Lindsay edited "The Pocket Book of Engineering Formulae".
