Commemorative and decorative face powder compact. Gold-coloured compact with pink lid showing in the centre a gold-coloured Seaforth Highlanders' stags head motif and "Cuidich 'n Righ". Inside is a mirror in the lid and traces of face powder on it and in the container. Weight 1 oz.
The donor was gifted this item by her brother, Willie Thom of Alness, in 1939 while he was serving with the Seaforth Highlanders. Mr Thom was later wounded at St Valery and subsequently died aged 21.
