Part 1: Collar presented to John Frew (later Provost of Dingwall) by the Independent Order of Good Templars. This is a fraternal organisation committed to the temperance movement.
The purple velvet collar has purple satin lining, gold braid around the edges, and on the right side a gold cross (sequins and braid) with anchor and heart intertwined.
On the left side there is a shield in silver coloured metal with the inscription 'Presented to Bro. John Frew, P.W.C.T. by the members of the Spa Lodge, No. 905, as a token of gratitude for many valuable services. Bridge of Allen 27th April 1876'.
Part 2: Attached with the collar is a handwritten message from John Frew's grand-daughter who donated the item to Dingwall Museum and offering a contact in Aberdeen with more information on the Good Templars organisation.
