- DescriptionLeg irons for restraining prisoners while in court on trial. A metal chain with a closed hook in the middle is attached to two metal ankle chains. There is a round hole in the straight piece of metal into which a key would have been fitted. These types of irons were commonly used throughout Scotland - this set was used at Dingwall's Town Gaol.
