Tekening met stadsgezicht, getiteld "De stad Amersfoort, van den Berg te sien, del[ineavi = dit heb ik getekend] 21 Sept. 1749". Op de voorgrond de Galgenberg met de stadsgalg en het rad. De ter dood veroordeelden werden op de Hof geëxecuteerd (zie galg Ia 3); daarna werden de lijken overgebracht naar de Galgenberg, aan de Utrechtseweg bij het huidige Berghotel. Daar werden zij opgehangen als waarschuwend voorbeeld voor de bezoekers van de stad (zie tekening Jan de Beijer 1000-598). Deze gewoonte bleef tot het einde van de 18e eeuw in zwang.
