Handwritten letter in blue ink on plain white A4 paper. Written from John Byrne to Norman Mathieson, the Glasgow Print Studio Workshop Manager at the time. Dated 23rd July 1999, the subject of the letter is the print 'An Unsolved Crime'. Byrne is asking Mathieson to print a couple of copies of the print for him, and he send his regards to GPS staff including 'The Boss' (John Mackechnie), wishing him luck with his upcoming show. The letter closes with "The weather here is HOT - V. Bloody HOT + extremely FREEZING by turn" and with a small self-portrait sketch. Byrne's location at the time of writing is unknown.
