The artist wrote about this work: "Rope was from an exhibition entitled "Hitch" at GPS [...] which was a response to the films of Hitchcock; I chose the film "Rope" by Hitchcock (one of his darkest) but reduced it to abstract images of rope rather than the instrument of death in the film..."
