Description
Image of a large hill printed in black and yellow with a blotted texture. Crescent moon and yellow-grey sky above.
In an interview at Glasgow Print Studio on 11th May 2011, the artist explained that the print was influenced by cliffs at Caithness - “It was going to be black and white but then I thought I can help it by having something that is, not exactly green, but pale yellow. And you have the greyness of the sky.” The image shows a scene at the end of the day. It is an etching but texture on surface of plate has been rolled onto the plate so that it prints like a relief print, rather than intaglio. The moon was created by using a mask to cover an area of the plate
