Description
'Milagro' means miracle in Spanish and is the name of a Mexican religious charm, shaped like different body parts - here, a heart. The print is a lithograph from stone and aluminium plate with hand dusting. The central white-silver heart image was made from stone with the other elements from plates. The three gold alchemical images were dusted with powder pigment when the ink was partially dried. The green-yellow was made using toner tusche - a method of drawing using photocopier toner powder to create the wash-like effect. The print has been made on black paper.
The print was made at the Tamarind Institute of Lithography, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque by Master Printer Julie Maher. It is marked with the chop marks of Tamarind and Maher (octopus).
