Image of grid pattern, printed in blue and black ink. This print was included in the 'Space' portfolio and associated exhibition, a project inspired by the film '2001: A Space Odyssey'. In an interview at Glasgow Print Studio on 11th May 2011, the artist explained that this image was influenced by seeing a yellow 'No Waiting' grid painted on the ground, and wondering if the colour changed from bright yellow to blue at night, in the dusk. When those lines are repainted over other lines a shadow is left behind, as suggested here by another grid in a more subtle blue. The effect of blue against black makes the grid look as if it is floating. The slightly skewed shape also suggests perspective.
