In an interview with Glasgow Print Studio on 21st June 2010, the artist stated;
“It’s quite like a sketch drawing, it’s not polished. It was done on a lithographic stone. I really liked the colour of the stone, so we’ve got that on the white paper [colour of cream ink reflects the colour of a litho stone] I like lithographic stone, I like the feel of it, I don’t like drawing on zinc [lithographic plate]. This was quite in keeping with my work at the time, which is not something I’ve left totally behind, the idea of musicians out in the countryside with big hats.”
