The artist wrote about this print "'Skeleton Leaves' was based upon the image I had of the skeletons of leaves as "Memento Mori" reminders of death, and I had an image of a medieval woman whose "arms" became "skeleton leaves" in the image; a reminder of the past and the present and the tiny span of our lives in relation to history."
