Spiegel in een langwerpige vorm met een lage toelopende punt aan één kant.
Dit object is, samen met een aantal andere objecten, afkomstig uit het Gemeentelijk Badhuis dat gevestigd was aan de Torenstraat 138 (hoek met de Geest). Dit badhuis, naar ontwerp van gemeentearchitect Adam Schadée, werd in 1927 geopend en was destijds een van de grootste badinrichtingen in Nederland. Het beschikte over 30 stortbaden en 29 douches, wachtruimtes, een woning voor de badmeester en uiteraard de technische voorzieningen (vier stoomketels, waterreservoirs in de toren). De inrichting was geheel volgens ‘de nieuwste eischen op hygiënisch terrein’, volgens een beschrijving in een lokale krant.
Decennialang werd het badhuis wekelijks bezocht door Hagenaars die thuis geen badkamer hadden. Op het hoogtepunt waren verspreid over Den Haag 13 van dit soort gemeentelijke badhuizen in bedrijf. In de jaren ’70 en ’80 liep de klandizie sterk terug – bijna iedereen had thuis de beschikking gekregen over een douche – en sloten de badhuizen hun deuren. Het badhuis in de Torenstraat sloot in 1988. Het was toen het een na laatste Haagse badhuis dat nog in gebruik was.
