Large nail. Part of a collection of items found at a sealers' hearth at Diaz Cove. Includes pieces of leather from a hand-sewn boot, bronze ship nails, tool handle, riveted barrel hoop joint, sharpening steel, caulking iron, wooden and bronze sheaves, and an ornamental ship bulkhead fitting which may have supported a gimballed oil lamp or candle holder.
